Sweet Dreams Sleep Consulting offers only personalized infant and toddler sleep solutions for your child's and families’ unique needs.  As a paediatric sleep consultant, I will support, educate, and encourage you, while you gently teach your child the vital and lifelong skill of how to fall asleep.

ABOUT ME

Welcome!  I’m Khudeja Williams, Founder of Sweet Dreams Sleep Consulting and Paediatric Sleep Consultant.  I’m happily married to my wonderful husband, and am a mother to an amazing little boy named Adam, who was born 8 weeks premature. As first-time parents with an early baby, we were lost.  While I was pregnant, I’d read many books on sleep and raising children, but nothing prepared me for sleep deprivation and caring for a tiny 3.5 lb boy. Sleep is not a luxury.  It is a biological need.  I’m passionate about sleep because I’ve been there!  Adam wasn't always an amazing sleeper.  I’ve experienced many sleepless nights when raising my son.  I’ve read all the conflicting advice and opinions on the Internet.  I understand the impact that a lack of sleep can have, not only on your baby, but on your entire family dynamic.  I’ve seen, first-hand, the difference that healthy sleep can make.  And I know that there isn't a "one size fits all" solution when it comes to finding restorative and quality sleep.

MY PHILOSOPHY
AND APPROACH

I practice and believe in a holistic, gentle, and positive, parent-present approach, which is compatible with the Attachment Parenting philosophy.  I work one-on-one with families to build a plan that works uniquely for them.  I help families teach their children the challenging new skill of falling asleep, while being hands on, offering support and comfort.  My goal is to educate parents about healthy sleep habits and what to expect. Your baby’s biological needs, cognitive and physical development are always at the forefront while developing healthy sleep habits.

 

WILL MY BABY CRY?

My method does not involve leaving your child alone until they fall asleep without support. My approach encourages the development of a secure attachment between parent and child.  You will always be there to support your child! - AND crying is one way that a child protests change.  You can expect that making changes to their sleep habits will result in some protest.  If you’ve held, rocked, and fed your baby to sleep for all naps, bedtimes and wakings, and then you decide that you want to change this routine, your child will naturally resist this change.  After all, they don’t know why you’re changing your approach.
